Taking bets: Gabbi-approved granola or not? Granola is usually loaded with sugars, additives, and syrups. What is supposed to be healthy for us typically is the exact opposite. To top it off, unless the oats are organic, they are most likely sprayed with glyphosate - a toxic herbicide. Purely Elizabeth however, did a great job minimizing the added sugar and using organic ingredients. While I would have liked to have seen less than a gram of added sugars and sweeteners like Allulose, stevia, and monkfruit used, the overall ingredient list checks out. What’s your favorite sports drink? I’m always on the lookout for healthy options and Body Armor surprisingly fit the requirements. It had no artificial sweeteners which was a huge win. It did have a small amount of sugar BUT when an ATHLETE uses a drink like this, those sugars will either be quickly burned while playing the game or practicing, or used for glycogen stores (stored energy in our muscle cells). If you drink this and are inactive, the sugars will most likely be shuttled to body fat. Additionally, if you’re trying to drop body fat, remember you typically need to burn through any sugars like this first before your body will utilize your body fat stores for energy.
